Job Title:       Director of Engineering – Multimedia BU                    

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Responsible for all aspects of the overall engineering product development activities for ASIC, Software development and Systems engineering. 

Develop strategic planning for the direction, infrastructure and control of product development activities and formulate long-term objectives and standards of performance for the whole department.

Provides key guidance to the Engineering teams regarding project definition, scope, philosophy, activities, milestones, and staff requirements

 

To provide technical direction and guidance for ASIC development and will be responbile for the completion of whole ASIC design cycle.

 

Oversees timelines for all significant engineering projects, reviews and publishes reports on the status of project milestones and adjusts schedules accordingly.

 

Communicate project status, identify risks and roadblocks, and implement mitigation plans to ensure project schedules are met with high quality.

 

Work closely with Marketing on future product investigation, definition and architecture planning

Manage teams in U.S. and in Shanghai and work closely with other functional resources in Taiwan

 

Ability to roll up sleeves and perform a functional role in ASIC or Systems

 

Hires, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the team and the project

Reports to the President of SMI USA/GM of Multimedia BU

 

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

 

BSCS, BSCE, BSEE or equivalent, MSEE preferred

10 – 15+ years of experience

Semiconductor experience is required; systems experience also desired

Strong end to end experience in building SoC, integrating 3rd party IP and design verification.

Must be a good coach/mentor and provide detailed troubleshooting assistance while fully understanding project design requirements.

Must have the ability to communicate and work well in a team environment – especially with upper management

Possess strength in working and communicating effectively on a cross-functional team in a culturally diverse environment. 

Applies excellent interpersonal skills with superior communication and presentation skills.

Strong personal integrity, desire to win with the team

Chinese Mandarin language speaking skills is a strong plus
