Letter from the Editorial Board

Dear eLetter readers,

CASPA continues its supporting effort in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. After donating thousands of PPEs directly to hospitals (in Hubei province of China in early February, and then in the Bay Area in late March), CASPA now partners with CAC (Chinese American Community Hand-in-Hand) to distribute tens of thousands of PPEs to local nursing homes, hospitals and individual health care professionals.

We are both non-profit organizations and we volunteer our time after work to make a collective effort in contributing to our society. Thanks to our generous donors, we are able to source hard-to-get PPEs and deliver them to the heroes in the hospitals and nursing homes. For more ways to support, please visit our website.

Please also look for the upcoming seminars in the sections below. There are more and more online seminars and workshops focus on the health and well-being of individuals every month. At the same time, we also continue to bring you the latest news in the semiconductor industry in the following section.

Happy reading and stay safe,

Allen Liu, Head of IT, on behalf of the eLetter Editorial Board

Fight Against COVID-19 in US

CASPA donated 350  protection gowns to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, Kaiser San Jose and Washington Hospital on March 25-26, 2020.

Dear CASPA members and friends,

The rapidly evolving nature of the COVID-19 pandemic has called upon CASPA and each of you to take action in helping our community to combat the spreading of the virus. Many Bay Area hospitals are currently facing a shortage of medical supplies as they contend with increasing numbers of COVID-19 patients. These include but are not limited to personal protective equipment (i.e. N95 masks, surgical masks, face shields, gowns), disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer and other items. To help protect the health and safety of patients, medical staff and our community, CASPA has decided to organize a donation program. We hope that you will donate medical supplies to those that need them the most (a list of some Bay Area hospitals and clinics that are accepting such donations is provided below).

Additionally, we also hope that you will help raise funds for the purchase of these urgently needed medical supplies. CASPA has identified various credible suppliers in the US and Asia. With funds raised in this donation program, we will donate the purchased medical supplies to local Bay Area hospitals and clinics that are in dire need of such items.

Donate through our web page

Some examples of the acceptable medical supplies are listed below (based on VMC Foundation). Equivalent supplies from other manufacturers will be accepted.

Below is a list of Bay Area hospitals accepting mask donations:

Thank you in advance for your generous support.
