Seminar Abstract:

As AI continues to advance and capture attention across diverse domains, there is a growing demand for robots capable of seamlessly integrating intelligent decision-making with physical action in real-world environments. There is an imperative for actionable robotic systems.

Furthermore, the interest is on humanoid robots that possess enhanced perception, cognition, and adaptability, mirroring human-like capabilities and also exhibit dexterity and physicality to effectively interact with their surroundings.

This seminar will provide a comprehensive presentation on the history, the current state-of-the-art in humanoid robotics, and the crucial importance of having actionable robots to complement the advances in artificial intelligence, and continue to drive progress in various fields.

The seminar will discuss recent humanoid industry developments such as Tesla’s Optimus and OpenAI/1X Neo, as well as issues surrounding humanoid robots such as human-robot interaction, ethical considerations, and their potential impact on employment and social dynamics.
