Jan 12 2025 , 2:00PM , Nearly 40 CASPA members attended the CASPA 2025 Post CES Sharing Panel on The Impact of AI on Future Consumer Electronics at ShenZhen Bay Innovation Center, 1st Floor, 3120 Scott Blvd, Santa Clara, CA 95054. The CASPA 2025 Post CES Sharing Panel on Consumer Electronics was hosted by CASPA BOD Ian Wang.
At the opening session, CASPA Chairman Zhibin shared CASPA’s 34 years of history and the three main focuses of CASPA: 1) Networking 2) Tech seminar 3) Education program . He then expressed the opportunities for the semiconductor industry and companies in the current AI innovation and entrepreneurship boom. He welcomed the attendees and looked forward to the speakers’ sharing.
CASPA BOA Danny Hua, gave a presentation on the exhibitors he observed and visited at CES. Starting from the CES 2025 exhibitors and visitors, from the main AI exhibitors to other semiconductor companies and Innovation Award and other special exhibitors, Danny gave several very insightful conclusions:
- NVIDIA enables AI and makes the developing much easier.
- NVIDIA is partnering with other fab-lees IC companies together.
- Sk Hynix ambition on AI DRAM and Flashes Memory with various standards.
- AI PC is booming.
5.Antonymous driving is promising , as demonstrated by NVIDIA and WAYMO.
6.Physical AI is coming.
7.Various type of Robotics.
CASPA BOD William Kuo gave a special report on the exhibitors he observed and visited at CES, William mentioned that there were more Chinese and Korean exhibitors and visitors. Some of the exhibitors are characterized as follows:
1.Amazon , Alexa , Text to image.
2.AMD AI PC , Text to Image , MSFT program.
3.Axelerate AI , EU’s response to NVIDIA.
4.AI Storm, Low power extreme low cost ; won’t take customer NN models.
5.Efficient computer, programmable like CPU , power performance like NPU.
6.Lotte/ carnival , AR/VR.
7.Robosense from HK , Linda and Camera in one.
8.Sambo Motors, Drones/VTOL , Hydrogen powered up to 112mph with 60 miles range.
William spoke with several exhibitors from the Ukraine and learned that their Drone can carry a load of up to 30 pounds and came away with the sentiment that Necessity is the mother of invention.
CASPA BOA Dr. James Lei moderated the Panel discussion, Mrs. Kathy Tian , Mr. Yongjing Wang and Mr.Xiaosi Yang participated in the sharing.
Dr. James Lei shared his experience of visiting CES and asked what is AI, what is the direction of AI, and what is the direction of AI technology. The guests shared their feelings on their own observations and thoughts.
Mrs. Kathy Tian, as a headhunter, the main purpose of her visit to CES is to find out the direction of the talent demand of her clients. She met some clients from China at the venue, who are generally looking to go to North America, mainly recruiting sales BD talents, with LA and New Jersey as the main workplaces. In general, Kathy felt that the number of attendees at CES this year was smaller than previous years and the market hotspot was not obvious.
Mr. Yongjing Wang, as a representative of an exhibitor who arranged a private room at CES to meet with customers for demonstration and communication, shared the effect of his communication. His company’s transparent material display technology based on projection technology has been recognized by more than 20 Tier 1 automotive customers, and expressed the intention to cooperate in HUD AI glasses and other occasions.
Mr. Xiaosi Yang, as an investor specializing in the consumer electronics industry, expressed his CES after-thoughts: 1. AI + hardware; 2. AI glasses 3. Embodied Intelligence (robotics) three major directions for the biggest theme of this time. Among them, the robotics industry in a number of participating manufacturers, especially the participation of Chinese manufacturers, the cost will be extremely reduced. The development of AI, on the other hand, will completely rebuild the rules and products of the toy industry.
In the end, the attending guests also exchanged and discussed their respective topics of interest, and expressed that they had gained a lot and looked forward to more similar activities.
