Talk Abstract:
Data growth has been on a rocket-ship trajectory, and IDC is expecting 103 zettabytes (ZB) of data to be generated worldwide by 2023. What is the concept for one ZB? Nowadays, It is common to see consumer-level storage devices with 1 terabyte (TB) capacity. 1 ZB is equivalent to 1 billion TB! That means, 1 ZB is enough space to hold 10 billion 4K movies. That’s so much cinema it’d take 1.8 million years to watch! If each TB in a ZB were a kilometer, it would be equivalent to 1,300 round trips from earth to the moon and back!
If there’s one thing clear about entering the ZB age, it is that we have to reconsider how we architect data centers with the power of cutting-edge storage technology to meet the demands. In this event, you will learn about the evolution of the storage technology and its latest updates, the vision for future cloud and local storage, and how the new storage technology might impact blockchain and cryptocurrency.
