Dear friends,

You are cordially invited to attend the “CASPA 2020 Entrepreneurship and Startup Seminar”. This event will be held on Saturday, September 19th, 2020 via ZOOM online conference meeting.

This Entrepreneurship and Startup Seminar will highlight two recent startup companies in semiconductor IC design area. Omni Design Technologies is a Silicon-Valley startup company focusing on the fast-growing areas ranging from 5G wireless communications, automotive networking, LiDAR and RADAR, wireline communications, Image sensors, and the internet-of-things (IoT). We have invited their CEO and founder, Dr. Kush Gelati, to give a presentation about his personal experience of starting up the company, and the challenges that he has encountered over the years. Dr. Kush will also present his vision of the future growth and potential job openings in the company.

The other Silicon-Valley startup company is Moffett AI focusing on AI area. Dr. Zhibin Xiao is Co-founder and Chief Architect of Moffett AI. Dr. Xiao is currently leading the hardware and software architecture team of the company, where he led the development of Sparse AI Accelerators and Systems. Dr. Xiao will also share his unique personal experience of starting up the company. He will also present his view of the company future growth and potential job openings in the company.

This event is specially tailored for the following semiconductor professionals: 1) who are interested in starting up a company, 2) who are interested in taking the challenges to join startup companies, and/or 3) who are looking for jobs and are confident to make great contributions in the semiconductor industry.

You are warmly welcome to join us at the ZOOM meeting!

Sincerely Yours,

Job Fair Committee, CASPA

Dr. Kush Gulati is Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Omni Design Technologies. He has led the company since the founding of this company in 2015.

Dr. Gulati has more than two decades of experience in high performance analog circuits design with pioneering contributions in reconfigurable analog-to-digital converters. In 2007, he co-founded Cambridge Analog Technologies, Inc. (CAT) where he led the company as President and CEO. CAT was focused on a revolutionary ultra-low power technology with wide applicability including in high-speed data converters.

In August 2011, CAT was acquired by Maxim Integrated, Inc., where he was Executive Director and General Manager of the Advanced IP Solutions Group. In 2015, he founded Omni Design Technologies, Inc. focused on leveraging fundamentally disruptive and proprietary ultra-low power circuit techniques that can enable a new generation of integrated circuits.

Prior to co-founding Cambridge Analog Technologies, in 2001, he helped co-found Engim, Inc., a wireless communications start-up based in Acton, MA, where he led their mixed-signal/analog group developing high-speed and high-resolution data converters. In 2005 he joined Bitwave Semiconductor, a startup developing wireless handsets based on software defined radio techniques, based in Lowell, MA, where he was the Director of analog and mixed-signal development.

Dr. Gulati received his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering and computer science with a Minor in business from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, the M.S. degree in electrical and computer engineering from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN, and the B.S. degree in electronics and communication engineering from Delhi Institute of Technology (now NSIT), New Delhi, India. His doctoral research at MIT was directed towards the design of a low-power reconfigurable analog-to-digital converter. From 1993 to 1995, he worked on circuit techniques for minimizing susceptibility of DRAMs to alpha particles and cosmic rays.

Dr. Gulati has numerous publications and patents including many in the area of integrated circuit design. While at MIT, Dr. Gulati received the Maxim Integrated Products Fellowship and the Analog Devices Outstanding Student Designer Award.

Dr. Gulati is currently serving on the Technology Directions Technical Committee at the International Solid-State Circuits Conference. He is also on the advisory board of multiple companies including Prescient Devices, Cambridge Electronics, Inc. and Skulpt, Inc. He has previously served on the Technical Program Committee of the VLSI Circuits Symposium and the SDR Forum.
